Artist Statement: Pollie Barden
Pollie Barden is an artist who has been working in variety of mediums over the past ten years. Her background is in graphic design, book arts, documentary, and photography. Since 2005, she has begun experimenting and creating interactive art and wearable works. Her works mainly with found objects.
Her educational highlights: MSP from the Interactive Telecommunication Program at New York University, New York; Certificate of Documentary Studies from the Duke Center of Documentary Studies, North Carolina. She had the honor to be awarded a work/study scholarship to Penland School of Grafts in Penland, North Carolina.
Barden is an active member of _gaia, a women’s artist collective in Jersey City, NJ. Her work has been featured in the Threads Wearable Art Show at Jersey Museum. She is participating in the Wonder Women III residency.
Pollie is continuing to peruse her life goals of never growing up or old, which ever she succeeds at first.
